Our friend Hinomura has recently enlightened us to the new Rider Pants made by Gripe in South Korea. Gripe is also one of the supporters of the upcoming Fixie! Picnic Weekend! Thanks Hinomura!
Earlier this week our good friend, Melissa (aka Mouse) passed away. Melissa was one of those people who lit up everything around her. Her kind, caring nature and bright smile were just a few of the amazing qualities Melissa carried. I first met Melissa back in 2003 during the CMWC in Seattle. I needed a place to stay and she and the rest of the U-lock Mob took care of me and offered up some floor space. In 2010, the rest COG was fortunate to have met and stayed with her while visiting LA for issue number 8. She touched the hearts and did so much for the worldwide messenger community. Our hearts go out to Douglas, Ozzie, her family and friends. Ride in peace Melissa.
There will be a memorial ride tonight in LA and other major cites including NYC and Boston in her honor. More info at DTLA.
This Italian beer company definitely has the right attitude. Looks like they threw some custom stickers on blank cans for a special event we missed out on...maybe (hopefully) next time!!!
These types of photos never seem to get old. Our friend Esehama captured this and some other memorable moments during the 13th Tokyo Bike Meet Up.

We continue our coverage of this year's NAHBS with another round of photographs from day two in Austin.

Now these were not specifically made for us at COG Mag. They were made for the COG Bike Cafe in Mt. Evelyn, Australia. These works of art were made by Iain Banfield of Fruition Bakery, in the Yarra Valley Hills just outside Melbourne. Iain shot us an email showing us what he likes to do with his extra dough. Nice work Iain! What a small, delicious world we live in!

"Ordered in person from Nagasawa-san in September after we had dinner together. The first thing he did when we met was autograph the Sept issue(09) of COG with his interview"
-Bob Rogen (New owner of a Nagasawa fixed gear road bike)
"The sport is Cycleball, with the speed of hockey, the contact of football and the accuracy of basketball...all in one sport." Check out the first time this game was brought to the US, back in 1984. A sport that was destined to pique America's intrigue with speed, danger and skill.

We're really honored to be included in the "Two Wheels Good" feature within issue 77 of Eye Magazine, The International Review of Graphic Design.

It's a rare thing these days to receive film from our correspondents, but it's also highly encouraged here. Today a parcel of negatives arrived from Korea courtesy of photographer extraordinaire, David Munson. Watch for the goods in COG 10.

"Nautica" hosted by local/athens collective, July 2010.
Featuring 8 checkpoints, 97 riders on a 39 klm course next to the coast of Athens.
"You're insane" howled a female rider as soon as she made it to the finish line, after the 46.7 klm of full speed heat-stroked coastal race.
This alleycat might have been a little bit tough, we admit.

Our friend Hinomura just informed us of the upcoming Trick Jam in Seoul, South Korea.

"The NÖ GALLERY aims to create and display works which embrace the broad, visually appealing cyclorama that the bicycle affords. From exquisite typographical studies of head badges, to bold, graphic delineations of the humble cycling cap. We'll travel back to the pioneers of road racing, via collage, canvas and colour, and onward, through photography and film to provide an ongoing project space."
