The Lickey Split sticker was from an all female messenger company run by Lynn Breedlove, singer for Tribe 8, and she also wrote a book called, "Godspeed". Which I think they made a local San Francisco movie."

New York City is boiling over with cycling activity right now. With last weeks BFF activities and events now comes the casting call for Premium Rush, a major motion picture being filmed this summer. Casting call photos by Jose Morales
On our recent trip out to NYC for this year's Bicycle Film Festival, one of the many great moments we brought back with us was this interview with Joey Krillz, co-founder of THE GRIME in Brooklyn.

The Milwaukee Bike-in Movie series starts tomorrow. This event is community run and free for everyone. Come watch RAD, the cult classic BMX movie, under the bridge. Movie is free and starts at sunset or approximately 9pm.

Earlier this evening the Riverwest24 website opened up registration online with only 85 spots left to be claimed. An hour or so later the RW24 reached capacity at 500 registered riders. The 2010 Riverwest24 takes place July 30-31 and word on the street is the famous Alaskan tattooist is already prepping his needles...

The Bicycle Film Festival is celebrating its 10th year! The festivities kick off today in NYC! Make sure you check out the website for dates and cities near you. If you are in NYC and at the street party this weekend, stop at the COG booth and say hi!

While rummaging through stacks and stacks of old skate magazines, I stumbled upon a few cycling magazines and brochures from the 50's-70's. The pages are yellowed and the stapled binding is barely holding it together. This made me think about the present day and how many people think print magazines are a thing of the past. Well, whoever thinks that will probably not appreciate this 1952 issue of Cycling Magazine. As I read through the articles and look at the black & white photos, I get sent back to a day where there were no computers and no blogs to inform the people of worlds happenings. Don't get me wrong, I (sometimes) love how fast news travels today, but there is something pure about holding something in your hands and turning the pages. Some things are forever and the internet is not one of them. One tap of the delete key and that Firestone bicycle tire ad would be gone. Instead, it is laying on my desk 58 years later and I am blogging about it. How ironic. Keep checking back as I dissect the Print mags of the past.
The Race Across America started 5 days ago in Ocenside, CA. Men and women from across the globe embark on a 3000 mile race ending in Annapolis, MD. This Trailer for a film called Bicycle Dreams a says a lot about what the riders are going through. Remember in 2008 when Jeff Bauer and Kevin Kaiser teamed up to do it on a fixed gear? That was amazing.
